The Trixie Wall Hay Rack is a practical hay rack that can be easily hung in the enclosure. The hay rack is closed off from the top with a lid so that the animals cannot jump in. The Wall Hay Rack can be used well as a basic hay rack.
✔ 100% Untreated Certified Natural Wood
✔ Lockable roof
✔ 100% Nail Free
The hay rack is not only practical, but also beautiful to look at and can even be used by the animals as a lookout post thanks to the flat roof. The bars of the hay rack have a good distance from each other and are rounded. The rack has a very natural look thanks to the bark wood and fits perfectly in a natural interior!
Refilling the hay is very easy by pushing the lid up and pushing the hay into the manger.
This hay rack was designed together with the German Animal Protection according to the strictest animal welfare regulations? It's true! This hay rack was designed according to Article 18 (AT) of the German Animal Welfare Act.
A good quality hay rack should be designed so that rodents can put their snouts between the bars, but not their entire head. The appropriate bar spacing depends on the species and size of the animal. In general, the following spacings are recommended:
Guinea pigs: about 3 cm
Degus: about 2.5 to 3 cm
Chinchillas: about 2.5 to 3 cm
Dwarf rabbits: about 3 to 3.5 cm
Medium rabbits: up to about 4 cm
Large rabbits: up to about 4.5 cm
It is very important that the animals cannot put their heads through the bars, because otherwise they can get trapped. This is different if the bars are very far apart and the animals can easily move their heads back and forth. If you notice that your rodent's head just fits through the bars and could possibly get trapped, it is advisable to remove the hay rack from the enclosure and choose one with a smaller bar distance.
No, it doesn't. This bark wood contains fewer resin channels and undergoes a careful drying process to ensure that it is completely free of resin and other saps that naturally occur in wood. During this process, the wood is exposed to controlled conditions of heat and airflow, which gradually removes any remaining moisture.
In addition, the wood complies with European guidelines and is monitored by the German animal protection agency to ensure that it meets the highest standards of safety and quality.
The Tierschutz-Kennzeichen (Animal Welfare Seal) is the only official seal of approval for products that comply with the Austrian Animal Welfare Act. It is awarded by the Fachstelle für tiergerechte Tierhaltung und Tierschutz (FTT), an independent body established by the legislator, and guarantees compliance with animal welfare regulations.
In order to be certified, the products must meet the requirements of the Austrian Animal Welfare Act, including the associated regulations. The assessment is based on legal requirements, current scientific findings and practical experience, comparisons with similar products and inspection and testing of the products.
Each product assessed and positively evaluated by the Fachstelle is given a unique test number with the Tierschutz-Kennzeichen, with which it is clearly recognisable. The test number consists of the year, a number for the animal category and a serial number.
