Understanding the gnawing needs of rodents and rabbits
The gnawing need of rodents is because the animals' incisors continue to grow. Gnawing is important to keep teeth in good condition. The best gnawing material can be given for this purpose and a snack can be given occasionally as a variation to the daily diet. Giving too many snacks is not healthy, so always keep a close eye on the weight of your rodents.

Different types of snacks for different types of rodents
It is good to know that rodents are mainly divided into two groups, namely the herbivores (plant eaters) and the granivores (seed eaters). The granivores often also eat insects and are therefore also called omnivores. The snacks that are suitable for herbivores such as guinea pigs, rabbits, chinchillas and degus, are also suitable for all other rodents. Unfortunately, this is not the case the other way around. The snacks that are suitable for granivores such as: Mouse, Dwarf Hamster, Hamster, Gerbil, Rat, are not suitable for herbivores. We clearly display this on the website.
