Does a Hamster or Dwarf Hamster ever have to travel?
Sometimes the hamster has to be taken out of the house. This could be for a visit to the vet or simply another location. Then it is nice to have a safe and suitable transport box at hand.
Preferably do not use cardboard boxes. Hamsters are rodents and cardboard doesn't stand a chance against hamster teeth. In short, they chew through it in no time.
A good transport box has a semi-closed bottom and a top with sufficient ventilation. However, the ventilation should not be so wide that the animals can escape through it. You will find different types and sizes of transport boxes in our range. The large transport boxes provide more space to place a house in the box, for example.
How can you reduce stress for your Hamster or Dwarf Hamster during the trip?
A tip we can give is to place your own ground cover in the transport box. For example, are you going to pick up a hamster from the shelter or breeder? Then take some bedding from the nest and put it in the transport box. The animal will then have its own familiar scent with it during transport.
