What is a good Caviar?
For a good run, it is best to connect several runs together. Trixie's runs also offer the possibility of expansion by adding extra panels. This way you can make the run as big as you want... or rather as your guinea pigs want!
The run must be spacious enough to be able to walk around, run and of course eat popcorn!
The guinea pig run can be used both indoors and outdoors. Anyone who thinks that the run is only intended for outdoor use is wrong, because guinea pigs also enjoy the run indoors. By connecting a run to an existing enclosure you significantly increase the habitat of your guinea pigs.
What can you place in the Guinea pig run?
The Guinea pig would also like to have the following parts in the run:

What can you do if the Guinea pig is a bit shy?
Guinea pigs can be shy when first placed in the run. This does not necessarily have to be the case with all guinea pigs, because there are certainly some that immediately love it and start poking around curiously. However, we recommend that you put the animals at ease as much as possible by offering something to nibble and hiding options.
It can also help to initially place the run in the room where the stay and housing are located, as the guinea pigs will find this less scary than in a strange environment. It can also help to place toys or other parts of the familiar housing in the run so that the animals can smell their own scent. Once the animals have gotten used to the run in the familiar space, the run can also be placed in a different location.
Run outside for the Guinea pigs
If the run is placed outside and the animals are not always supervised, it is very important that the run is properly closed so that other animals cannot reach it. This will occur less often in urban areas, but in rural areas predators (birds of prey, mink, foxes) can pass by and endanger the guinea pigs.
Can you place the Guinea pig run in the grass?
It is of course great to place the run in the grass for the guinea pigs! They can stroll through the grass and their paws suddenly feel a completely different surface than what they are used to. That gives a nice variation on the standard ground cover! However, this must be taken into account. Grass in the spring is a lot richer in protein. If the Guinea pigs eat too much of this protein-rich grass, they can have intestinal problems. Then build this up slowly.
Where is the best place to place the Guinea pig run?
Never place the run in the sun. Even if the animals have shelters, never place the run completely in the sun, because overheating is a risk. Part in the sun and part in the shade is possible. In addition, provide sufficient cooling on hot days so that the animals do not get too hot and if the temperature outside becomes too high, bring the animals inside.
