Instructions for use Rodent Dig and Play Sand

For small rodents (Mouse, Dwarf Hamster, Hamster)
Small rodents love to dig. However, this sand is not suitable for use as excavation sand, because it collapses, so tunnels do not remain standing with this sand. We therefore recommend only applying a small layer of a maximum of 5/7 cm for small rodents. A 5 kg bag is comparable to 5 liters. To fill an entire enclosure of 100 x 40 cm with 5 cm of sand, approximately 4 bags are needed.

For small rodents that originally live in the desert
Let the sand dry thoroughly before using it for desert animals, otherwise the humidity is too high for these animals.

For larger rodents as a digging bucket (Rat, Rabbit, Degu)
For larger rodents and rabbits, the burrow sand in the digging bucket can be used. A 5 kg bag is comparable to 5 liters. To fill a 50 x 50 cm container with a 10 cm layer, at least 5 bags of sand are required.

Unfortunately, the Sand is not suitable for Chinchillas. The sand is too moist for the fragile Chinchilla fur.

For Fresh rodent plants
The sand is also suitable as a substrate for fresh plants. These can take root well in it. View all our fresh plants here!
