The cooling stone is made of rough ceramic and provides small rodents with cooling in the summer during hot days. The cooling stone can be placed in the refrigerator so that it becomes even colder. The cooling stone is made of rough ceramic (not glazed). This has the advantage that it is so rough that the nails can also wear down when the animals walk over it.

Instructions for use Cooling stone

The cooling stone is very easy to use. It is already cool in itself. By placing it in the enclosure, the animals can lie down on it when they are warm. The plate is best placed in a stable place so that it cannot be buried in the ground cover.

For outside animals the cooling stone should be placed in the shade. As soon as the animals step away from it the disk cools down again.

For extra cooling, the cooling stone can also be placed in the refrigerator. The cooling stone absorbs the extra cold and will give the animals extra cooling.

The Animal Welfare Quality Mark

The Tierschutz-Kennzeichen (Animal Welfare Seal) is the only official seal of approval for products that comply with the Austrian Animal Welfare Act. It is awarded by the Fachstelle für tiergerechte Tierhaltung und Tierschutz (FTT), an independent body established by the legislator, and guarantees compliance with animal welfare regulations.

In order to be certified, the products must meet the requirements of the Austrian Animal Welfare Act, including the associated regulations. The assessment is based on legal requirements, current scientific findings and practical experience, comparisons with similar products and inspection and testing of the products.

Each product assessed and positively evaluated by the Fachstelle is given a unique test number with the Tierschutz-Kennzeichen, with which it is clearly recognisable. The test number consists of the year, a number for the animal category and a serial number.
