Top layer This ground cover is also very suitable as a top layer . This layer can be sprinkled on top of an existing ground cover and thus serve the function of foraging or play layer .

The Natural Pet Brand Card N Egg (formerly Joris No Smell) is a ground cover consisting of different colored egg cartons. A special property of egg cartons is that they are very soft and therefore pleasant for the paws. Egg cartons have an open paper structure which makes them absorb moisture very quickly.

This ground cover can be used as a ground cover in itself, but can also be used very nicely as a second (play) layer. Especially for larger rodents this can be very nice and promote foraging behavior. We therefore advise to occasionally sprinkle some treats through the play layer to encourage the animals to go looking.

Also for small rodents a second layer consisting of Egg & Cardboard can be very nice. Small rodents such as: Mice, Hamsters and Gerbils can dig wonderfully through this layer. Also for them scattering a little treat is an exciting challenge to go on a search.

Did you know?
The egg carton pieces can contribute to a cleaner rat fur? The soiled fur rubs against the egg cartons which absorb the moisture and thus clean the fur.

Thanks to the Card N Egg's strong absorption, puddles are sucked up very quickly. The wet pee corners are best replaced regularly for the best and most efficient use.

Instructions for use The Natural Pet Brand Card N Egg

For small rodents as top layer (Mouse, Dwarf hamster, Hamster, Gerbil)
Fill the enclosure with the standard ground cover and place a 5 to 10 cm layer of Card N Egg on top. Sprinkle some treats through the layer and let the animals display their natural behaviour by searching for their food (foraging).

For larger rodents as a top layer (Rat, Guinea Pig, Rabbit, Chinchilla, Degu)
Fill the enclosure with the standard ground cover and place a layer of Egg & Cardboard on top of it of 10 to 20 cm (depending on the animal). If necessary, sprinkle some treats through the layer and let the animals show their natural behavior by searching for their food (foraging).

For use as ground cover for rodents and rabbits
Fill the enclosure until the bottom is completely covered with Egg & Cardboard. A layer of 10 to 15 cm is sufficient, provided the bottom is completely covered.
