What is a willow bridge?

The willow bridge is made of willow wood and, as far as we are concerned, an indispensable part of the rodent enclosure. The sticks are 100% natural and untreated, so they are also safe to gnaw on. The sticks are connected to each other by means of thick iron wire. The iron wire is flexible, which means the bridge can be bent into all kinds of shapes, which is really fun for variation!

How do you use the willow bridge for small rodents?

The Willow Bridge 27 cm is a fun basic bridge that is ideally long enough to use as a step to a higher area or, in its curved shape, as a shelter. The bridge has a kind of recess or opening in the wood on one side, which is intended as a small feeding trough where you can put something tasty. This ensures that the animals go looking and have an extra challenge.

Tip! If you are not going to hang the bridge and you do not need the hooks, you can easily unscrew them from the bridge.

Can this willow bridge be used for Hamsterscaping?

Yes absolutely! It is a great item to hamsterscape with. The bridge can not only be used as a bridge but also as an elevation, shelter, ladder to another part and also as a wall for the ground cover. When used as a wall we advise to close the cracks with moss so that no legs can get stuck in it.

Can the bridge be used as a wall to keep out ground cover?

Yes, that is possible, but we recommend covering the top of the bridge with moss, for example. So that the animals cannot get their paws stuck in the cracks of the moss.

How can I use the willow bridge for larger rodents?

For larger rodents we do not think the bridge is suitable. Rats are an exception. Because the bridge has hooks on both sides, you can hang this bridge very nicely and above all very stable in the rat cage. The best thing is to connect two sides of the cage with each other. Most rat cages have a depth of maximum 50/60 cm so that the bridge can run from one side to the other and because it is attached with hooks, the rats can walk over it safely.

For larger rodents than rats we recommend using a normal willow bridge.

Is the willow bridge nail-free?

Yes, the willow bridge is completely nail-free and also contains no staples. The only thing that is processed in the bridge is the iron wire. However, the iron wire is processed in a very safe way so that the animals do not come into contact with it.
