Product description

PhytoTreat Leucillin HOCL Skin Care for (rodent) animals and rabbits

Leucillin can provide valuable support for sore soles of the feet (sore hocks) in rodents and rabbits. This painful condition is often caused by a combination of pressure on the soles of the feet, a surface that is too hard or too moist and reduced skin resistance. The antibacterial and soothing effect of hypochlorous acid (HOCL) in Leucillin helps to keep the skin clean and supports the natural recovery process.

Because Leucillin is pH neutral, non-toxic and non-irritating , it can be safely applied directly to the affected soles of your feet. This helps prevent infection, soothe the skin and speed up the healing process . Regular use, combined with a soft surface and good hygiene, can help prevent and relieve this painful condition.

Leucillin is a safe, (skin) pH neutral, non-toxic, non-irritating hypochlorous acid (HOCL) solution for use on all skin types, including sensitive and allergy-prone skin. It soothes, softens and calms the skin. It is also 100% safe for use in and around the ears and eyes. It is suitable for all mammals, birds and reptiles. Leucillin can also be used without risk on competition animals.

Mechanism of action of PhytoTreat Leucillin HOCL Skin Care

Leucillin imitates and supports the body's own immune system. It contains hypochlorous acid (HOCL), a natural substance that the immune cells (leukocytes) in the body of humans and animals produce and use against unwanted intruders. In this way, HOCL supports the skin's ability to recover, which greatly reduces recovery time.

PhytoTreat – Because it can be better!

PhytoTreat Leucillin HOCL Skin Care Dropper 50 ml is a powerful and effective spray for cleaning and rinsing the skin, ears and eyes of (rodent) animals and rabbits.

Why use Leucillin and not regular remedies?

Often, agents are used that, in addition to neutralizing unwanted intruders, also traumatize the skin and thus slow down the recovery of the skin, such as alcohol. Alcohol stings animals and is cytotoxic. Leucillin, on the other hand, does not cause tissue damage, it does not sting and it is not toxic when ingested.

What is the cleansing protocol when using Leucillin?

How to use:
– Remove any visible dirt using a sterile cleansing cloth, remove stuck dirt with sterile tweezers. If not necessary, skip this step, because you can traumatize the affected area by rubbing.
– Then rinse the affected area generously with Leucillin. By spraying you strengthen the cleaning effect.
– Then you can let it dry, if desired, pat dry with a sterile cloth. A minimum exposure time of 1 minute must be observed.

Can you also use Leucillin for a perforated eardrum?

The chance of a perforated eardrum is generally quite small. However, it is important to rule this out. If there is a perforation, your pet's ear can only be treated with Leucillin in consultation with your veterinarian.

Isn't Leucillin simply diluted bleach?

Leucillin contains Hypochlorous acid (HOCL) and bleach contains Hypochlorite (OCL-). Both are from the same family, but do not have the same chemical structure. Bleach mainly contains OCL- and has a pH between 10-12. Leucillin mainly contains HOCL (300 ppm) and has a skin-friendly pH of 5.5. Undiluted bleach is much less effective than hypochlorous acid (HOCL), but due to the high pH it is very aggressive for the skin. To lower the pH, water is added to bleach, which further reduces its effectiveness.

What is the difference between different applications (spray, liquid, cream, gel)?

For maximum neutralizing effect, the liquid form is most effective. The active ingredients need to come into contact with the unwanted invaders in order to neutralize them. In a watery liquid, the active ingredients can easily be transported to every corner of the affected area. In a gel or cream, the active ingredient is dissolved in a viscous solution and therefore not all irregularities of an affected area are reached and therefore not everything is neutralized. Viscous solutions can act as an effective barrier against further infection, but can also lock the infection in. The latter can lead to bacterial mutation and even resistance.

Leucillin is therefore only available in a water-thin liquid with the active ingredient Hypochlorous Acid (HOCl). Leucillin is available in spray form and as a dropper. The dropper is especially for the ears and eyes to prevent a shock effect and to be able to dose more accurately. The sprayer has the additional advantage that you can flush and debride the affected area well by spraying.
