Comfortable entry depth and high corner height. Most rodents do their "business" in corners. This feature can be leveraged by animal care professionals to reduce the cleaning needs of the entire enclosure and significantly improve cage hygiene.
The Rodipet® Ceramic Corner Toilet COMFORT is the first ceramic corner toilet for small rodents such as hamsters and running mice that is lower at the front than at the back. Advantage: The animal can comfortably enter the corner toilet, and at the same time urine discharge is reliably collected at the back.
Golden hamsters lift their butts when urinating. With conventional containers with an equal height on all sides, urine can sometimes splash over the edge. Everything is reliably collected with the Rodipet® Ceramic Corner Toilet COMFORT. Due to the sloping shape of the corner edge, this corner toilet also fits in plastic cages up to the edge of the bowl. (In plastic cages, the bottom shells are usually wider at the top than at the bottom.) The neutral color scheme also provides a harmonious overall appearance in terrariums, rodent enclosures and wooden cages.
Fill the corner toilet with chinchilla sand. This is natural and is most accepted by the animals as a toilet substrate. To get the small rodent used to the new corner toilet, you need to place the litter from a corner where the animal has urinated on the sand in the corner toilet. Then clean the corner in the cage where you removed the litter and fill it with fresh litter. The animal usually quickly finds the new toilet corner and then uses it to urinate. If the corner toilet is cleaned regularly, the entire cage does not need to be cleaned so quickly.
...many rodents go to the same place again and again to relieve themselves. In this way, tunnel systems and caves remain clean and are not unnecessarily contaminated, as food supplies are also stored there. If the animals were to spread their urine everywhere, the resulting increased odor would attract predators.
To accurately hit the same spot every time, the animals squeeze their behinds into an angle. To ensure that the rodents can follow their natural instincts, the toilet has a triangular shape.
