The Trixie Box is made of durable plastic and has a colored hood with ventilation holes. In addition, there is a transparent flap in the top of the hood, which can be easily opened. Although the hood has handles, we recommend not using them to prevent the hood from accidentally coming loose.

As a breeder of small rodents, we have a valuable tip for you. The larger sizes of the Trixie Box are particularly suitable as a temporary home for young animals that have just been separated from their parents, but are not yet old enough to move to their new owner. With the transparent plexiglass construction of the box, you offer excellent visibility and can constantly monitor the young animals.

After separating the animals by gender, you can easily place them in two different tanks. This creates an organized and safe environment for the young animals to grow and thrive before they go to their new owners.

Unfortunately, the Trixie Box is not suitable for guinea pigs, rabbits and chinchillas. These animals are better transported in a large and closed transport box. The box is specifically designed for small rodents that like to hide in the bedding that must be placed in the box. Larger rodents have more difficulty hiding, which may cause them to experience more stress in the box. In addition, the box is too small for a quarantine stay for guinea pigs, rabbits or chinchillas.
