Supreme Vetcare Plus Urinary Health Rabbit Food
Rabbits have an unusual calcium metabolism. In cats and dogs, calcium absorption is regulated at the intestinal level and adapted to the body's requirements. Excess calcium in the diet is excreted in the feces. This is different in rabbits and calcium absorption is less well regulated. It appears to be proportional to the calcium content in the diet, regardless of the body's requirements. An excess of calcium is therefore excreted via the urinary tract, which often leads to urine with a high degree of calcium precipitation. This can lead to pain and illness in animals that are sensitive to this. Vetcare Urinary Health Rabbit Food provides a nutritionally complete and balanced daily diet for rabbits of all breeds and ages (from 20 weeks). It is suitable as a long-term diet for rabbits that are sensitive to urinary tract disorders.
