MATERIAL OF THE RUNNING WHEEL

What is the best material? Wood, Metal, Plastic? For Degus it is important to choose a running wheel that is gnaw-proof. A gnaw-proof running wheel is made of metal.

DO NOT WASH WALKING WHEELS IN WATER

For all running wheels it is not good to rinse them completely under the tap. It is very important that the turning mechanism (ball bearing) does not get wet. The more often the turning mechanism is rinsed the stiffer it becomes and can therefore start to squeak and run stiffer.

We do not recommend washing running wheels with water. Wiping them with a damp cloth is no problem, but it is not good for the running wheels to get them completely wet.
