By taking a sand bath, chinchillas care for their sensitive coat . The sand ensures in particular that the coat is and remains in good condition. The sandbox itself must of course meet a number of requirements. For example, it must first be large enough so that the animals can really bathe comfortably. The sandbox must also be somewhat closed, otherwise you will have sand lying everywhere.

What size sandbox is suitable for Chinchillas?
