Versele-Laga | Quality food for rodents and rabbits
Did you know that it all started with a family that had a garden restaurant and a grocery store? But then grandfather Prudent Versele came along, a real rodent guru in the making. He had a brilliant idea: he wanted to go out on the farm with specially formulated animal feed for our furry friends. So, in 1937 he built a brand new factory on the Leie in Astene (Deinze). And guess what? A year later, that factory was ready to rock!
After the Second World War, Versele-Laga was no longer an option. Their clientele expanded like a rabbit nibbling on a carrot, and in 1958 the factory in Astene already had a capacity of no less than 200,000 tons of bagged goods. That's a whole lot of nibbling pleasure, if you ask me!
And now, today, Versele-Laga is a name synonymous with top quality in the world of rodent food. And let's be honest, what would we do without them?
