The Animal Welfare Label

The Tierschutz-Kennzeichen (Animal Welfare Label) is the only official seal for products that comply with the Austrian Animal Welfare Act. It is granted by the Fachstelle für tiergerechte Tierhaltung und Tierschutz (FTT), an independent authority established by the legislator, and guarantees compliance with animal welfare regulations.

The Animal Welfare Label

Many of our products have been certified as animal-friendly by the Fachstelle für tiergerechte Tierhaltung und Tierschutz (Authority for Animal-Friendly Husbandry and Animal Welfare).

The Tierschutz-Kennzeichen (Animal Welfare Label) is the only official seal for products that comply with the Austrian Animal Welfare Act. It is granted by the "Fachstelle für tiergerechte Tierhaltung und Tierschutz" (FTT), an independent authority established by the legislator, and guarantees compliance with animal welfare regulations.
To be certified, products must meet the requirements of the Austrian Animal Welfare Act and its corresponding regulations. The assessment is based on legal requirements, current scientific knowledge, practical experience, comparison with similar products, as well as inspection and testing of the products.

Each product that has been inspected and positively evaluated by the Fachstelle is given an individual control number under the Animal Welfare Label, making it clearly identifiable. The control number consists of the year, a number for the animal category, and a serial number.

To be certified, products must meet the requirements of the Austrian Animal Welfare Act, including its associated regulations. The assessment is based on legal requirements, current scientific knowledge and practical experience, comparisons with similar products, and inspections and testing of the products.
